So I baked.

Behind the cakes
Hello, I’m Lori the founder and heart behind Taste of Cakery.
Baking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember — a place where I first discovered joy, creativity, and belonging. Some of my sweetest memories live in the kitchen with my grandfather: the smell of warm peach cobbler still warms my belly to this day, flour dusted across the counter (and often my nose), and laughter filling the room as easily as love did.
On hard days, cupcakes lifted my spirits. On good days, desserts made them even sweeter. Now, I get to carry on that same magic with my own children. We play in flour, sneak tastes of frosting, and bake memories together — just like I did all those years ago.
That’s the spirit I bring into every creation at Taste of Cakery: a blend of love, laughter, and sweetness that feels like home. Every order is personal to me — a reminder of the love letter I once wrote to myself. It’s my way of honoring all the pieces of who I am: the little girl in her grandfather’s kitchen, the mother raising her children, and the woman who believes life deserves beauty, sweetness, and care.
