✨ The Art of Cake Cutting & Care — So Every Slice Stays Fresh and Beautiful
Cakes are little celebrations in themselves — layered with beauty, joy, and just the right amount of sweetness.
And while they’re a feast for the eyes, they deserve to be served just as beautifully.
Here’s our gentle, thoughtful way to turn your showstopper into picture-perfect slices, every time.

How to cut into your delicious cake:
Step 1 — Begin with Care
Place your cake on a sturdy, flat surface so it stands proudly.
Rest a cutting board snugly against its side — your guide for a clean, straight cut.
With a sharp, straight-edged knife, make a 1-inch vertical slice from top to bottom, letting the blade glide gently through the layers.
Wipe your knife between cuts for edges as smooth as your buttercream.
Step 2 — Portion with Intention
Lay your slice flat on the cutting board, revealing all four cake layers and three swirls of icing inside.
Decide how you’d like to serve it:
Dessert portions — about 1" x 2", perfect for an indulgent slice.
Coffee portions — about 1" x 1", a little sweetness for a lighter moment.
Cut straight down so each piece holds its shape, like a little gift in frosting and crumb.
Step 3 — Serve with Grace
Place one neat slice on a plate, letting the beauty of the layers speak for themselves.
Return to your cake, cut another 1-inch slice, and repeat — steady, unhurried, intentional — until every guest has their piece.
Bonus Step — For the Tallest of Cakes
When your cake is especially tall, you can make each piece even more delicate.
After portioning, slice each piece horizontally through the middle, creating two petite layers of sweetness from one.
Perfect for little hands or when your table is filled with many desserts to taste.
A Few Little Secrets for Success
We recommend chilling your cake up to 1 hour before serving for the cleanest slices.
Always use a straight, sharp knife (not serrated) for the most precise cut.
Lift each portion gently with a cake server so the details stay just as lovely as when they were made.
